It is now widely recognised that being in nature is good for us and is beneficial for our physical, emotional and mental health.  Time spent in nature grounds us, helps clear our minds, put things into perspective and helps us to feel connected.  However, the health benefits of being in nature may not be easy for people to access, especially when they need it most.  Earth-light candles has been created with the aim of bringing nature to people and helping people connect with the beauty and healing power of nature in their own home.  My intention behind these special candles is to create an atmosphere of ‘being in nature’, connected to the flowers and trees in the candles, bringing their unique energy and the energy of their natural environment into your home.

 

To achieve this each candle is handmade with loving intentions, each contains organic plant material which has been ethically collected from the woodland, hedgerow or garden.  The candles are unique, individual and have a magical feel, with each expressing the unique characteristics of its plant or environment. 

 

Although beautiful to look at, and a piece of botanical art in their own right, the candles are made to be lit and burned.  They are carefully designed so that the plant material becomes illuminated as they burn revealing a secret world of nature and magical scenes which are fascinating to watch (please see Gallery section for more information and examples of how the candles burn).

 

Each candle comes supplied with a leaflet giving information on the characteristics of the plants they contain, the environment in which they grow and any folklore and traditions associated with the plant.  This is supplied in the hope that the benefits will become two way, and in engaging and heightening their awareness of the flower or tree, people will want to help preserve these living beings and protect the environments in which they live.
